Hanoi celebrates 72nd anniversary of Capital Liberation Day

Hanoi marked the 72nd anniversary of the Capital Liberation Day (October 10, 1954 – October 10, 2026) with a series of large-scale cultural and commemorative events. The celebrations included spectacular fireworks displays at three major locations: Hoan Kiem Lake, West Lake, and Van Quan Lake. The pyrotechnic show featured over 4,000 high-altitude shells and various low-altitude and artistic firework effects, creating a massive light show across the city.

Cultural programs were held throughout the capital, including the “80 Years - Hanoi's Heroic Song Echoes Forever” art program and the “Hanoi Symphony” concert at the Ho Guom Opera House. Additionally, the “Chắp cánh tuổi thơ” (Wings for Childhood) art program was organized to provide a cultural space for children and families.

In conjunction with the festivities, the city highlighted infrastructure progress, such as the technical opening of sections of the Ring Road 2.5 project. The municipal government also announced the implementation of 292 projects and works for 2026, with a total investment of approximately 385 trillion VND, aimed at further developing the capital's urban landscape and connectivity.
