Vietnam police help recover misdirected bank transfers for citizens

Police in Ninh Bình investigated a mistaken transfer of more than 1.4 billion VND that was deposited into the account of 51‑year‑old Trần Thị Hiên. After confirming the sender as Trần Tấn Hữu of Tây Ninh, authorities guided him through the procedures to retrieve the full amount.

In Hanoi, officers from the Yên Hòa ward assisted Korean resident Choi Nankyoung, whose account had received 92.555 million VND by error. Working with the bank, they identified the accidental recipient, N.T.K, and facilitated her voluntary repayment, completing the restitution on 10 July.

Both cases illustrate local police coordination with banks to resolve mistaken electronic transfers and return funds to their rightful owners.
