Hanoi Police investigate Bitcoin Defi cryptocurrency fraud

The Hanoi Police are investigating a fraudulent scheme involving the creation and management of a cryptocurrency called ‘Bitcoin Defi’. The investigation, which covers incidents occurring in 2021, involves charges of illegal use of computer networks and property appropriation through fraud.

Authorities have identified a core group of four individuals—Dương Nguyên Hùng, Nguyễn Tiến Chiến, Đinh Bạt Hùng, and Trần Tú Anh—who allegedly managed the cryptocurrency. They reportedly collaborated with Phạm Tuấn, a social media personality, and Mai Thế Tùng, known as DJ Tommy, to organize promotional events and lure investors into the scheme to misappropriate funds.

The police are currently seeking victims who lost money through this method. Those affected are urged to contact the Criminal Police Department of the Hanoi Police at 62 Nguyen Van Huyen, Nghia Do Ward, Hanoi, or reach out to the investigator directly via telephone.
