Vietnam strengthens road safety and infrastructure management

Vietnam is implementing stricter measures to improve road safety and infrastructure management. On the Nội Bài - Lào Cai Expressway, traffic police have penalized a passenger bus driver for driving at low speeds (60-63 km/h) while occupying the left lane instead of moving to the right, a violation intended to maintain smooth traffic flow.

In response to recent serious accidents, the Ministry of Construction has proposed tightening driver training regulations. This includes prohibiting student drivers from practicing on certain expressway lanes and unfinished sections to ensure compliance with speed and safety distance requirements.

Additionally, the Ministry of Construction has issued directives to improve the management of investment projects. Authorities are tasked with identifying causes for slow disbursement, replacing underperforming contractors, and ensuring that project implementation follows strict accountability and quality standards.
