Hanoi police recover 20.6 million VND after mistaken transfer

On 29 July 2026, Ho Xuan Hung, a 1998‑born resident of Xuân Phương, Hanoi, accidentally transferred 20,600,000 VND to an unknown account. He immediately reported the mistake to the Bình Minh commune police, who began verification and coordinated with the bank.

The police contacted the unintended recipient, who voluntarily returned the entire sum. Ho Xuan Hung thanked the police and the community for their swift assistance. Hanoi police cautioned the public to double‑check recipient names, account numbers and amounts before confirming any transfer and advised anyone who receives unexpected funds to contact their bank or the nearest police station for guidance.
