Hanoi celebrates 72nd anniversary of Capital Liberation Day

Hanoi is celebrating the 72nd anniversary of its Liberation Day, marking the historical return of the capital to independence on October 10, 1954. The anniversary features extensive cultural, artistic, and commemorative activities across the city.

A major highlight of the celebration is a 15-minute large-scale fireworks display scheduled for 9:00 PM on October 10. The displays will take place at three primary locations: Hoan Kiem Lake, West Lake, and Van Quan Lake. The West Lake display is expected to include high-altitude, low-altitude, and water fireworks synchronized with music. The Hoan Kiem site will feature 350 fireworks rigs positioned in front of the Hanoi Post Office.

In addition to the pyrotechnics, the city has organized various cultural programs, including art exhibitions such as ‘One Hanoi. A Million Steps’ and musical performances at the Hoan Kiem Opera House. The festivities also include commemorative events for the Hanoi Capital Armed Forces. Throughout the city, streets and public spaces have been decorated with flags and banners to honor the historical milestone and the city's ongoing development.
