Hanoi Raises Tet Gift for Retirees to 500,000 VND

From 1 to 7 June 2026, Hanoi will increase the Tet‑gift amount for pensioners and monthly social‑insurance beneficiaries to 500,000 dong per person, an increase of 200,000 dong. The city estimates that more than 600,000 residents will receive the benefit. Payments will be made together with regular pension or allowance disbursements through the designated paying agencies, with instructions to ensure correct targeting, transparency and convenience for recipients.

The adjustment forms part of Hanoi’s broader effort to expand support for other policy‑targeted groups, although specific details for those groups were not disclosed.
