Hanoi reports rise in COVID-19 and dengue cases

The Hanoi Center for Disease Control (CDC) recorded 268 new COVID‑19 infections and 175 dengue fever cases in the week of 24‑31 July 2026, bringing the year‑to‑date totals to 855 COVID‑19 cases and 1,046 dengue cases, with no deaths reported. The city also logged 110 hand‑foot‑and‑mouth disease cases, 10 measles cases, four chicken‑pox cases and continued monitoring of 42 dengue hotspots, 17 of which remain active.

CDC Hanoi warned that respiratory infections such as COVID‑19 and adenovirus, as well as vector‑borne diseases, are likely to increase as tourism resumes and students return to school in August and September. Authorities plan intensified surveillance, vector‑control campaigns, environmental sanitation, and public awareness efforts to contain further spread.
