Hanoi students to receive five-day National Day holiday

The Hanoi Department of Education and Training has announced a five-day consecutive holiday for students and staff at preschools, general education schools, and vocational training centers for the 2026 National Day celebrations.

The holiday period will run from Saturday, August 29, through Wednesday, September 2, 2026. To facilitate this schedule, educational units will swap the working day of Monday, August 31, with the weekly rest day of Saturday, August 22.

During the break, schools are instructed to display the national flag and coordinate with local police to ensure facility safety and fire prevention. The holiday concludes just before the start of the new school year, with opening ceremonies scheduled for September 5.
