Hanoi targets commencement of 114 social housing projects in 2026

Hanoi authorities have launched a new plan to accelerate the development of social housing to meet the needs of low-income earners and industrial workers. Hanoi People's Committee Chairman Vu Dai Thang signed Plan No. 317/KH-UBND to monitor and inspect the implementation of social housing investment projects across the city.

The city aims to commence construction on all 114 approved social housing projects within 2026. Additionally, officials will focus on expediting 30 ongoing projects already under construction. This initiative is part of a broader goal to complete 120,000 social housing units during the 2026–2030 period.

To support this, the city is working to resolve bottlenecks related to land funds, investment procedures, and administrative hurdles. Hanoi targets a minimum of 18,700 social housing units in 2026, with a goal of bringing approximately 25,000 to 27,000 units to the market.
