Hanoi launches cultural center and river cleanup projects

Hanoi is launching several major cultural and infrastructure projects to commemorate the 72nd anniversary of the Capital's Liberation on October 10, 2026.

A key development is the groundbreaking of the Hoan Kiem Cultural Industry Center at 17 Nguyen Thien Thuat and 40 Thanh Ha. Spanning approximately 3,862 square meters, the center aims to create a multi-functional creative hub featuring art galleries, studios, and spaces for traditional crafts and culinary culture.

To celebrate the anniversary, the city will host large-scale fireworks displays at Hoan Kiem Lake, West Lake, and Van Quan Lake. Sponsored by Sun Group, the 15-minute performance will include high-altitude, low-altitude, and water-based pyrotechnics.

In terms of environmental infrastructure, the city is preparing to launch a 75,115 billion VND project to dredge and treat the polluted Nhue River. The project, utilizing a public-private partnership model, is expected to begin on October 10, 2026, and will involve extensive land use and wastewater treatment facilities.

Additionally, regional cultural activities are underway, including heritage preservation efforts in Gia Lai and various ethnic cultural festivals across Vietnam, such as the Mường Lò festival and culinary events in Thanh Hoa.
