Hanoi to test flying taxis as Vietnam advances high-tech training

Vietnam is seeing significant developments in both high-tech transportation and educational reform. In Hanoi, the Department of Science and Technology and Hung Viet Investment Trading and Technology JSC have signed an agreement to research and test a low-altitude economy model. This includes a controlled sandbox for EHang's EH216-S autonomous passenger and cargo vehicle at the Hoa Lac Hi-Tech Park. The initiative aims to develop unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV/eVTOL) ecosystems, traffic management models, and operational centers.

Simultaneously, the Ministry of Education and Training is promoting deeper collaboration between universities and enterprises to meet the demands of emerging digital industries. Forums held in Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi emphasize the need for training models that align with market needs, particularly in AI, nuclear power, and railways. Educational institutions are also adapting to the AI era by shifting from knowledge transmission to problem-solving and implementing fast-track programs to help students enter the workforce sooner.

In the private sector, Dat Bike and Toshiba Electronics Asia have partnered to enhance the Vietnamese electric two-wheeler market through strategic electronic and power solutions. Meanwhile, Hateco Group has entered a memorandum of understanding with EHang and other partners to develop UAV/eVTOL ecosystems for logistics, maritime, and real estate applications.
