Hanoi University of Business and Technology suspends two medical students for a year after TikTok livestream
Two fourth‑year medical students from Hanoi University of Business and Technology were suspended for one academic year after a live TikTok broadcast from Duc Giang Multi‑specialty Hospital showed them using vulgar language and threatening to "inject poisonous medicine" into a viewer. The university's disciplinary council voted unanimously for the suspension and lowered the students' conduct scores. The hospital, which confirmed the women were interns rather than staff, terminated its internship program for the pair and reviewed its supervision of trainees.
University officials, including Vice Director Nguyen Van Long, said the conduct violated professional ethics and the institution’s moral standards, and emphasized the role of universities in teaching both technical skills and ethical behavior.
