Hanoi's 100‑Year Master Plan Transforms Sông Tô Lịch River

An exhibition on the Hanoi Museum showcases the city’s 100‑year development vision, open until 29 August. Visitors can examine detailed maps and models that outline Hanoi’s growth phases for 2030, 2045, 2065 and beyond.

The display highlights a radical redesign of the 14‑km Sông Tô Lịch river, proposing a clean‑water ecological corridor flanked by green parks, flower beds, pedestrian walkways and a series of new bridges to improve connectivity. Similar concepts are presented for the Nhuệ River and other waterfronts. The plan also features a multi‑layered, multi‑centric urban layout, extensive public‑transport infrastructure—including over 300 km of metro lines built around transit‑oriented development—and modern architectural concepts for future stations such as Cổ Loa and C9‑Hồ Hoàn Kiếm.
