Hanoi’s Export Value Surges to $10.6 billion in First Six Months of 2026
Hanoi’s export turnover reached 10,585 billion USD in the first six months of 2026, a 5.5 % increase over the same period a year earlier, according to the city’s Statistics Department. The growth was driven by strong gains in several product groups: agricultural goods rose 10.6 %, computers, electronics and components climbed 18.1 %, oil surged 123.7 %, and glass products grew 15.8 %.
Local firms now account for 54.2 % of the export value (5,737 billion USD) while foreign‑direct‑investment enterprises contribute the remaining 45.8 % (4,848 billion USD). Companies such as Prosi Thăng Long and Thạch Bàn Group export about 90 % of their output to more than 90 markets, including the EU, the United States, China, the Middle East and South‑Asia. To offset global trade headwinds, exporters are increasingly using large e‑commerce platforms and foreign retail chains such as AEON and Central Retail.
The city’s officials highlighted the shift toward digital sales channels and the diversification of destination markets as key to sustaining the export rebound amid worldwide economic slowdown and tighter import regulations in major economies.
