Hanoi's Xuân Tảo Road Revamped After Flood‑Control Project

The 2.4‑km, eight‑lane Xuân Tảo road in Hanoi's Nghĩa Đô ward, previously prone to chronic flooding and illegal encroachments, has been transformed through the city’s emergency flood‑control programme. Completed by late February 2026, the project rebuilt the road with a robust drainage ditch running its length, widened stone‑paved sidewalks, protective railings and rows of street trees. All temporary stalls and unapproved structures were removed, restoring open public space for pedestrians, cyclists and children. The upgrade eases traffic pressure on the route linking the Diplomatic Corps area with Hoàng Quốc Việt street and enhances the area’s flood resilience, benefiting residents and supporting further development of the Tây Hồ Tây district. Final construction tasks remain before full hand‑over to local authorities.
