Hard Rock Hotels close Cancun and Vallarta resorts for five‑month renovations
Hard Rock Hotels will suspend operations at its two flagship all‑inclusive Mexican resorts this summer for extensive five‑month renovations. Hard Rock Hotel Cancun closes on 3 August 2026 and is scheduled to reopen on 16 December 2026, while Hard Rock Hotel Vallarta in Nuevo Vallarta shuts on 20 July 2026 with a target reopening on 17 December 2026.
The upgrades will redesign guest rooms, refresh public areas, modernise amenities and completely overhaul meeting and convention facilities. Vallarta’s beachfront wedding chapel will be rebuilt as an ocean‑view Catholic chapel, and both properties will debut new music‑memorabilia collections reflecting the brand’s heritage. The timing avoids the peak winter travel season, and guests with existing bookings may be relocated to sister properties in Mexico or the Dominican Republic or cancel without penalty. Reservations for the winter 2026/2027 season are already open. General managers Ximo Blanch (Cancun) and Erika Cruz (Vallarta) highlighted the transformational scope and commitment to guest experience.
