Harold Norman misses court date over domestic abuse allegations

Harold Norman, husband of Ghanaian actress Rosemond Akua Adobea (known as Nana Akua), missed a scheduled court appearance on 7 October 2026 regarding allegations of physical, emotional, and economic abuse. The Criminal Investigations Department (CID) of the Ghana Police Service confirmed that Norman was hospitalized, a claim being verified by the Domestic Violence and Victim Support Unit (DOVVSU).

The Ministry of Gender, Children and Social Protection has announced that social welfare officers will monitor the wellbeing of the couple’s children during the ongoing investigation. Gender Minister Dr. Agnes Naa Momo Lartey met with Norman following his discharge from the hospital to discuss the family’s safety and emotional welfare.

The investigation follows a petition submitted by Nana Akua in August 2026. Authorities stated that the intervention is intended to protect the children from conflict and ensure a stable environment while the police inquiry into the alleged assault proceeds.
