Harry Kane and FC Bayern München enter contract talks amid new season
FC Bayern München is entering the 2026-2027 Bundesliga season with significant momentum, having recently secured the German Supercup with a 2-1 victory over Borussia Dortmund. The club is currently engaged in highly positive contract negotiations to extend the deal of star striker Harry Kane, whose current contract expires in the summer of 2027. Bayern's sporting director, Max Eberl, described the discussions as “incredibly harmonious,” noting that both the player and the club are eager to reach an agreement.
On the pitch, Kane remains a central figure following a prolific previous campaign where he scored 61 goals in 51 matches and won the European Golden Shoe. While Kane identified Paris Saint-Germain as the favorite to win the Champions League, he expressed strong ambition to pursue the trophy with Bayern.
The squad has seen strategic changes under manager Vincent Kompany, including the arrival of new players Nathaniel Brown and Ismael Saibari, and the departure of João Palhinha. Bayern is set to begin its Bundesliga title defense against VfB Stuttgart on August 28, 2026.
