FC Bayern players and coach win German Footballer of the Year awards
FC Bayern München has secured a historic sweep of the 2025/26 German football awards organized by Kicker. Harry Kane was voted Men’s Player of the Year, becoming the first Englishman to receive the honor since its inception in 1960. Kane secured 272 votes, finishing ahead of teammate Michael Olise. His award follows a prolific season in which he scored 61 goals in 51 appearances across all competitions.
In the coaching category, Vincent Kompany was named Coach of the Year after leading Bayern to a domestic double, including the Bundesliga title and the German Cup. In the women’s category, Giulia Gwinn was voted Women’s Player of the Year for the second consecutive year. This marks the first time in the history of these awards that both the men’s and women’s Player of the Year titles have been awarded to the same club.
Amidst these accolades, discussions regarding Harry Kane’s future at the club have begun. With his current contract set to expire in June 2027, Kane confirmed that negotiations for a potential extension are expected to take place in the coming weeks.
