Harry Potter franchise celebrates 25th anniversary with global re-releases

To celebrate the 25th anniversary of the Harry Potter film franchise, Warner Bros. Discovery is organizing global celebrations, including a theatrical re-release of 'Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone'. The special screenings, scheduled from late August through early September 2026, will feature ten minutes of previously unreleased behind-the-scenes footage from the original production directed by Chris Columbus.

Events are taking place across multiple regions, including North America, Europe, Latin America, and Asia-Pacific. In Italy, a major event is planned for Venice on September 1st. In Chile, themed dining experiences are being launched in Santiago to complement the cinematic return. Other regional activities include fan gatherings in Brazil and special Basque-language screenings in Spain. These festivities coincide with anticipation for the upcoming HBO Max original series adaptation set to debut in late 2026.
