Haryana CM Nayab Singh Saini launches cleanliness drive and digital excise reforms

Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini inaugurated a state‑wide cleanliness campaign from Panchkula, sweeping market areas, planting saplings and urging citizens to keep homes and public spaces clean. The drive aligns with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Swachh Bharat initiative and precedes the prime minister’s scheduled visit to the state on July 17, during which a hydrogen‑powered train will be flagged off.

On the same day the chief minister also unveiled an upgraded QR‑code “Track and Trace” system for liquor and eight new online excise services. The digital tools will monitor the movement of each liquor bottle from distillery to retailer, curb illicit trade, simplify licensing for banquet halls and spirit users, and support a tax‑relief One‑Time Settlement Scheme for pre‑GST dues.
