Haryana CM Nayab Singh Saini orders transparent monitoring of welfare schemes

Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini has instructed state officers to ensure that government welfare schemes reach eligible beneficiaries with transparency and effectiveness at the grassroots level. During a review meeting in Chandigarh, the Chief Minister emphasized that departmental practices should focus on delivering tangible benefits to farmers, women, youth, and rural communities rather than simply increasing statistical figures.

The meeting included reviews of several departments, including Agriculture and Farmers Welfare, Horticulture, and Irrigation and Water Resources. A key highlight was the Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare Department’s initiative to link the Integrated Fertiliser Management System (IFMS) with the Meri Fasal Mera Byora (MFMB) portal. This system uses POS machines to supply fertilizers only to verified and registered farmers, which has helped prevent black marketing and industrial misuse of urea and DAP. This arrangement reportedly resulted in subsidy savings of Rs 820 crore between October 2025 and September 2026.

Additionally, the Chief Minister directed agricultural scientists to engage directly with farmers in the field to research and address crop pests and diseases, such as caterpillar outbreaks.
