Hashdex Bitcoin ETF delisted as XRP secures collateral role in Ethereum lending
The Hashdex Bitcoin ETF, which launched in March 2024 with about $15 million in assets, will be delisted from the New York Stock Exchange on August 17. Its Bitcoin holdings will be sold and investors repaid, a move that has little impact on the broader Bitcoin ETF market that holds roughly $78 billion across twelve remaining products.
Separately, XRP is being accepted as collateral by the crypto‑credit platform Sentora, which issues Ripple's stablecoin RLUSD on the Ethereum network via the Flare bridge. One million dollars of XRP‑backed loans have already been issued, with $280 million pledged for future lending. Meta’s AI unit predicts a significant price rise for XRP, citing a potential ETF super‑cycle, regulatory approval for Ripple’s bank‑licence‑type activities, and growing institutional use of the XRP Ledger. The forecast targets a price between $2.45‑$2.80 in a base scenario, with upside potential up to $8.00 if ETF inflows exceed $5 billion.
