Hashi Market opens first West Coast Japanese supermarket in Cupertino
Hashi Market, a Japanese supermarket founded in New York in 2024, is opening its first West Coast location in Cupertino. The store will occupy a former Sprouts location and aims to serve as a cultural bridge by offering Japanese products to the United States.
The supermarket features a wide variety of goods, including snacks, pantry staples like miso paste, frozen items such as mochi ice cream, and specialty products from Hokkaido, such as melon cakes and crackers. While primarily focused on Japanese cuisine, the store also stocks Chinese, Korean, and other Asian brands, alongside a selection of American products.
In addition to food, the market includes beauty products and kitchenware. Hashi Market also owns Marina Food Market in San Mateo and Marina Grocery in Milpitas and Union City, and is currently considering rebranding those locations to the Hashi Market name.
