Fouzi Lekjaa, president of the Royal Moroccan Football Federation, has claimed that the 2030 World Cup final will be hosted in the Benslimane province at the Hassan II Grand Stadium. The stadium, currently under construction, is projected to have a capacity of approximately 115,000 spectators and is estimated to cost around $12 billion.

FIFA has responded to these claims by stating that no official decision has been made regarding the venue for the final and that the matter will be resolved 'in due course.' The international governing body also denied previous reports suggesting that President Gianni Infantino had promised Morocco the hosting rights.

This announcement has intensified the competition between the co-hosts—Morocco, Spain, and Portugal—for the tournament's most prestigious match. Spanish Football Federation president Rafael Louzán has argued that Spain is the rightful host, citing its organizational capacity and status as a top footballing nation. The 2030 World Cup will feature opening matches in Uruguay, Argentina, and Paraguay to celebrate the tournament's centenary.
