Hazelnut prices show regional variation in Turkey
Hazelnut prices in Turkey show significant regional variations across the free market as of late September 2026. In Giresun, prices for certain quality groups are approaching the 200 TL per kilogram mark. In Ordu and Samsun, prices for 'tombul' quality hazelnuts are trending between 180 TL and 185 TL. In Trabzon, 'Levant' quality hazelnuts are trading in the 170-175 TL range, while prices in Sakarya and Düzce remain lower, between 155 TL and 165 TL.
There is a notable gap between free market rates and the Turkish Grain Board (TMO) purchase prices. For the 2026/2027 season, the TMO has set purchase prices at 255 TL per kilogram for Giresun quality and 250 TL per kilogram for Levant quality, based on a 50 percent sound kernel standard. Actual market prices fluctuate based on yield, quality, moisture content, and specific district or buyer conditions.
