HbbTV updates require new channel tuning for Italian digital terrestrial TV

Digital terrestrial television services in Italy are undergoing updates to HbbTV (Hybrid Broadcast Broadband TV) applications. Users with internet-connected televisions or decoders are advised to perform a new automatic channel search to access updated hybrid services that combine traditional frequencies with streaming content.

Rai offers an extensive range of services through RaiPlay, including on-demand content and live HD streaming. Specific applications such as Rai Sport Play and Rai TV+ provide access to channels not typically available on terrestrial signals, including Rai 4K.

Mediaset utilizes MediasetPlay for on-demand content and integrates HbbTV applications for targeted advertising. Other broadcasters like La7 and La7Cinema also utilize specialized applications for on-demand archives and targeted advertising. The updates affect various platforms, including digital terrestrial and satellite services.
