HBO Max to release Polish crime series ‘Wśród nocnej ciszy’ in November

The HBO Max series ‘Wśród nocnej ciszy’, directed by Jan Holoubek, is scheduled to premiere on November 13. The six-episode production is inspired by true events from the Christmas of 1976 in Połańce, based on the reportage ‘Nie oświadczam się’ by Wiesław Łuka.

The story follows the investigation into the deaths of three young people who were killed by a bus on the night of December 24–25, 1976. While the incident was initially dismissed as an accident, the narrative focuses on a mother seeking justice and an investigator attempting to uncover a conspiracy of silence surrounding the crime.

The cast includes Łukasz Simlat, Jędrzej Hycnar, Magdalena Biegańska, Justyna Wasilewska, Tomasz Schuchardt, Adam Woronowicz, and Tomasz Włosok. The series was produced by Lulu Production and TVN, with Maciej Kowalewski contributing to the screenplay.
