HCLSoftware and HPE introduce solutions for the Agentic AI era

Major technology providers HCLSoftware and Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE) are addressing the shift toward 'Agentic AI'—autonomous AI agents capable of reasoning and executing tasks—and the operational challenges it presents to enterprise IT.

HCLSoftware reports that while Agentic AI represents a massive growth opportunity, over 40% of related projects may be canceled by late 2027 due to failures in implementation, integration, and governance. The company identified three primary hurdles: rising security risks from automated cyberattacks, productivity stagnation caused by siloed tools, and escalating costs. To combat this, HCLSoftware introduced 'HCL IntelliOps,' a suite designed to integrate security, automation, and observability.

HPE is promoting the concept of the 'Agentic Enterprise,' where AI agents act as a digital workforce. HPE highlights four critical operational challenges: increased workflow complexity, surging costs from high token consumption, shifting infrastructure demands (moving from GPU-heavy to more balanced CPU/GPU needs), and the necessity for robust AI governance. HPE’s solution, 'GreenLake Intelligence,' utilizes a 'closed-loop' operational model involving continuous observation, reasoning, action, and validation to manage these autonomous systems.
