Health authorities conduct beach sanitation and water testing in Panama and Mexico
Health authorities in Panama and Mexico are conducting environmental and sanitary measures at coastal locations. In Panama, the Ministry of Health's Los Santos Health Region organized a cleaning and sanitation campaign at Playa El Rincón in Pedasí. The initiative aimed to collect solid waste to protect marine fauna, local ecosystems, and public health during the Month of the Oceans.
In Mexico, the State Commission for Sanitary Risk Protection (COEPRIS) is performing seawater sampling in La Paz, Cabo San Lucas, and San José del Cabo. These tests follow recent rains to evaluate water quality for recreational use. Authorities have advised against entering the sea in specific areas, including El Comitán, El Médano, and Costa Azul, until laboratory results from the State Public Health Laboratory are processed.
