Health infrastructure projects underway in Croatia and Montenegro
Renovation works have commenced on the health center in Pag, Croatia, with a total project value of 118,519 euros. The project is co-financed by the Ministry of Regional Development and EU Funds with approximately 74,000 euros, while the remaining costs are covered by Zadar County and the City of Pag. The renovation includes facade and roof repairs, replacement of windows and doors, and updates to sanitary facilities to improve healthcare delivery for residents and tourists.
In Montenegro, the microbiological laboratory at the Dr. Jovan Bulajić Special Hospital in Brezovik has been reconstructed and equipped through an EU-supported project valued at approximately 360,000 euros. As the only laboratory in Montenegro dedicated to the diagnosis of tuberculosis and mycobacteriosis, the upgrade focuses on enhancing biosafety and biosecurity. The reconstruction allows for better physical separation of the laboratory from other hospital areas, improved ventilation, and the introduction of molecular diagnostics to speed up the identification of infections.
