Health initiatives expand in Mali and Senegal
In Mali, the Caisse Nationale d’Assurance Maladie (CANAM) has launched a four-day workshop to strengthen the governance, transparency, and performance of health mutuelles. This initiative supports the implementation of the Universal Health Insurance Scheme (RAMU), specifically targeting the informal sector, rural populations, and artisans to ensure equitable access to quality healthcare.
In Senegal, health authorities in Tivaouane have mobilized 204 agents and drones to manage sanitary coverage for the Gamou 2026 celebrations. The strategy includes public awareness campaigns, strict food product inspections, and sanitation efforts to prevent disease. This follows the recent reception of the 300-bed Seydi El Hadji Malick Sy National Hospital in the region.
