Health leadership changes in the Dominican Republic and Argentina's Tucumán province

The Dominican Republic's National Health Service (SNS) appointed three new senior officials on June 24, 2026. Julio Landrón, SNS executive director, swore in Eleazar Reyes Quezada as director of the Regional Health Service of Higuamo, Yakaira García Peralta as director of the Evangelina Rodríguez Hospital for women, and Santiago Ignacio Domingo Valenzuela Sosa as head of the Neurosurgery Department at the historic Padre Billini University Hospital.

In Argentina, the provincial Ministry of Public Health installed Miguel Ferre Contreras as the new Executive Medical Secretary for Tucumán. He succeeded Daniel Amado after a ceremony led by Health Minister Luis Medina Ruiz and Governor Osvaldo Jaldo, who highlighted recent achievements such as over 5,000 monthly surgeries, reduced waiting lists, and expanded pediatric intensive care.

Both appointments are presented as part of broader efforts to strengthen public health management, improve service quality, and expand access to medical care in their respective regions.
