Health Minister Isaías Fretes inspects Eusebio Ayala Hospital

Paraguayan Health Minister Isaías Fretes conducted a surprise inspection at the Eusebio Ayala District Hospital in the Cordillera Department. During the visit, which is part of his 'Taguató' series of unannounced inspections, Fretes identified infrastructure deficiencies, specifically noting that the hospital morgue lacks air conditioning. He instructed the hospital director, Dr. Jorge Pérez, to coordinate the necessary mechanisms to acquire the equipment to ensure dignity for the deceased.

During the visit, Fretes engaged with patients and families, receiving positive feedback regarding the quality of medical care provided by the staff. The inspection also included a personal encounter with a local resident who expressed emotional frustration regarding the perceived lack of engagement from politicians with citizens in their homes over the last two decades, while simultaneously praising the healthcare workers at the facility.
