Health Ministry issues alert over counterfeit infant formula
The Ministry of Health has issued an alert regarding the distribution and sale of counterfeit units of “Sancor Bebé Advanced 1” infant formula, intended for infants aged 0 to 6 months. While reports of the counterfeit product are currently concentrated in Buenos Aires and the Autonomous City of Buenos Aires, there is no confirmed evidence of its sale in Río Negro. However, health authorities in Río Negro have been instructed to reinforce preventive controls in commercial establishments.
The counterfeit product, originally intended for Ethical Nutrition S.A., features typographical errors on the label, packaging differences, and a smaller measuring spoon. Most critically, the product reportedly contains aflatoxin M1 at concentrations exceeding the permitted limits for infant food, posing a serious health risk to infants.
Authorities have identified the specific batch as L: Y010 F-011207563, with a production date of 10/01/26 and an expiration date of 10/04/27. The public is advised not to consume or administer the product if they identify these specific details in their homes.
