Health officials boost hospital services in Argentina and Cuba

In Argentina, the executive medical secretary of Siprosa, Miguel Ferre Contreras, visited Hospital Juan Bautista Alberdi with Dr. Pedro Ottonello, director of the Southern Programmatic Area. The tour assessed the hospital’s facilities, including a complex laboratory, and outlined plans to continue expanding services and improve coordination with other health centers in the Alberdi operational area, following provincial government directives.

In Cuba, the director of the National Health Service, Dr. Julio Landrón, conducted unannounced inspections of health centers in Santiago Oeste, including the Periférico Hospital in Cienfuegos. He ordered immediate upgrades such as a modern X‑ray unit, sonographer, electrocardiograph, new emergency‑room beds, and inclusion of the hospital in a 2027 renovation program, aiming to strengthen primary‑care and hospital services for the local population.
