Health services expand in Alcinópolis and Cuiabá
In Alcinópolis, Brazil, a men's health initiative at the Central Basic Health Unit (UBS) conducted 81 urological consultations. While 140 appointments were scheduled, 59 patients failed to appear. Health Secretary João Abadio emphasized the importance of notifying the unit in advance of absences to allow other patients to utilize the available slots.
In Cuiabá, the Viver Bem Preventive Medicine Center, part of Unimed Cuiabá, reported 19,245 services provided between January and July. This represents a 12.3% increase compared to the same period in the previous year. The center offers various programs focused on chronic disease management, mental health, and elderly care, with the 'Viver Melhor' program seeing the highest demand among those aged 60 and older.
