Poland hospitals undergo major upgrades via KPO and civil defense funds

Various medical facilities across Poland are undergoing significant upgrades through the National Recovery Plan (KPO) and civil defense programs.

In Sztum, the local hospital received over 39 million PLN to modernize its infrastructure, including cardiology services and long-term care. A major renovation of the Care and Treatment Center increased bed capacity from 32 to 94.

Szpital Żywiec has invested over 23 million PLN to open a new cardiology complex on its third floor, integrating cardiology, intensive care, and interventional radiology to streamline patient treatment. Similarly, the Provincial Specialist Hospital No. 3 in Rybnik completed projects worth 27.4 million PLN, focusing on cardiology modernization and digital transformation to enhance cybersecurity and patient data management.

In the Podlaskie region, hospitals in Białystok, Łomża, and Suwałki are receiving millions in funding from the Civil Defense and Population Protection Program (OLiOC). These funds are designated for designing protective structures, such as underground shelters in tunnels and parking areas, to ensure hospital continuity during emergencies.

Additionally, the Provincial Specialist Hospital in Lublin has expanded its invasive cardiology capabilities by implementing advanced 3D heart mapping and integrated ablation technology, allowing for more precise treatment of complex arrhythmias.
