Infrastructure and healthcare expansion in Poland

Public and private infrastructure in Poland is expanding through new facility openings and modernization projects. In Rybnik, a new nursery opened in the Nowiny district to accommodate up to 96 children, utilizing funding from the ‘Aktywny Maluch’ program and KPO subsidies. Simultaneously, PZU Zdrowie launched a multi-specialty medical center in Bydgoszcz offering nearly 30 specializations, with plans to incorporate National Health Fund (NFZ) services.

Further developments include the Saint Mother Teresa of Calcutta Hospital in Dębno, which is scheduled to launch Primary Health Care services on September 1, 2026. Additionally, a Care and Treatment Facility (ZOL) in Sztum completed a 21 million PLN modernization funded by the National Recovery Plan (KPO), increasing its bed capacity from 32 to 94 following the renovation of a historic building.

Recent upgrades to medical facilities continue through KPO and civil defense funding. In Sztum, the local hospital received over 39 million PLN to modernize infrastructure, including cardiology and long-term care services. Szpital Żywiec invested over 23 million PLN to open a new cardiology complex integrating intensive care and interventional radiology, while the Provincial Specialist Hospital No. 3 in Rybnik completed 27.4 million PLN in projects focused on cardiology and digital transformation to enhance cybersecurity.

In the Podlaskie region, hospitals in Białystok, Łomża, and Suwałki are utilizing funds from the Civil Defense and Population Protection Program (OLiOC) to design protective structures, such as underground shelters, to ensure continuity during emergencies. Furthermore, the Provincial Specialist Hospital in Lublin has expanded its invasive cardiology capabilities through advanced 3D heart mapping and integrated ablation technology.
