Healthcare services expand in Monagas and La Victoria
Healthcare facilities in Venezuela are reporting increased medical activity and infrastructure improvements. In Monagas state, the Hospital Universitario "Dr. Manuel Núñez Tovar" (HUMNT) recorded over 3,500 general clinical consultations between July 30 and August 7. This period included 1,98 surgical interventions—consisting of 65 general and 133 elective surgeries—as well as 1,426 emergency room visits across adult, pediatric, and obstetric departments. The hospital also processed 1,501 laboratory samples and distributed over 12,000 medications and 27,000 medical supplies.
In La Victoria, the Centro de Diagnóstico Integral (CDI) Hugo Chávez has reopened following an investment exceeding 400,000 euros. The facility renovation included structural repairs, electrical updates, and new climate control systems. The center is expected to serve approximately 3,296 patients monthly, supporting over 47,000 residents. The reopened facility now includes a surgical area and offers specialized services such as ophthalmology, dentistry, endoscopy, radiology, and 24-hour emergency care, equipped with modern clinical instrumentation.
