Healthcare infrastructure and technology expand in Turkey and Northern Cyprus

Selçuk University Faculty of Medicine Hospital in Konya has strengthened its robotic surgery infrastructure by acquiring a second robotic surgical system. This addition aims to increase operational capacity and provide advanced technological treatment to more patients. The system supports various fields, including general surgery, urology, pediatric surgery, cardiovascular surgery, and obstetrics and gynecology. It offers high-resolution 3D imaging and precise robotic arms, allowing for smaller incisions, less pain, and faster recovery for patients.

In Northern Cyprus, Health Minister Dr. Hakan Dinçyürek announced several healthcare infrastructure developments and capacity increases. Key updates include the expansion of services at Dr. Burhan Nalbantoğlu State Hospital, Gazimağusa State Hospital, Girne Akçiçek Hospital, and Cengiz Topel Hospital. Notable improvements include new neonatal intensive care, cardiovascular surgery, and cardiology services in Gazimağusa, as well as the renovation of the AMATEM unit at Barış Mental Health Hospital. The Minister emphasized goals of increasing accessibility, implementing digital transformation, and completing new hospital projects in Girne, Güzelyurt, and Karpaz.
