Healthcare infrastructure projects face progress in Montenegro and delays in Bosnia
In Montenegro, Deputy Prime Minister for Health and Social Welfare Jelena Borovinić Bojović met with the French Ambassador to Montenegro, Cécile Humbert-Buvier, and a delegation from French healthcare companies. The discussions focused on strengthening bilateral cooperation, specifically regarding the construction of the University Clinical Center in Podgorica. Borovinić Bojović described the center as a top priority and a vital project for the Montenegrin health system, noting that French expertise and technological solutions could significantly aid its realization.
In Bosnia and Herzegovina, the oncology patients' association SNOP Zenica organized a roundtable discussion titled ‘ONKOS 26 – Two Years Later’ in Zenica. The meeting addressed the ongoing blockade of the project to build a new oncology department, which is intended to be the first phase of a new University Hospital in Zenica. The association expressed frustration that despite previous agreements, no concrete progress has been made in two years. The discussion also covered the financing of innovative medicines for oncology patients through regional and federal funds.
