Healthcare initiatives launched in Italy

Various community and clinical initiatives are being introduced to support patient care in Italy. In Piacenza, the Pro Loco Tramballando organization is hosting a charity dinner on October 30 at the Ristorante Olimpia in Niviano. The event aims to benefit the Hematology department of the Piacenza Hospital, directed by Dr. Daniele Vallisa. Reservations for the dinner are required by October 28.

In Pietra Ligure, the Spinal Unit of the Santa Corona Hospital has launched the ‘Fidati della mia Zampa’ pet therapy project. In collaboration with Pet Therapy Doctor Dog Aps and supported by the Fondazione Banca delle Visite Ets, the program will run from late October through May 2027. The initiative involves 12 bi-weekly sessions designed to complement traditional rehabilitation for patients with spinal cord injuries by addressing their emotional, psychological, and social needs through animal-assisted interventions.
