Healthcare providers in Italy emphasize humanization of patient care
Healthcare facilities in Italy are emphasizing the humanization of patient care through personal recognition and specialized summer programs.
At the Umberto I Hospital Dialysis Center in Tagliacozzo, patient Ugo Giannini expressed deep gratitude in a letter to the staff. Giannini, who was receiving treatment while on vacation, praised the medical team for their professionalism, punctuality, and, most importantly, the kindness and humanity they demonstrated, which helped him feel safe and at home while away from his usual care.
Similarly, the IRCCS Saverio De Bellis, led by Director General Michelangelo Armenise, is implementing the “Agosto al De Bellis – L’umanità nella cura” program. This initiative aims to support patients and caregivers during the summer months through music, psychological support, and wellness activities. The program is designed to reinforce the principle that patients should be treated as individuals rather than just their illnesses, focusing on emotional reading and listening to improve the overall care experience.
