Italian healthcare facilities continue to focus on both the quality of patient experience and the expansion of their workforce.

In terms of patient care, institutions are emphasizing the “humanization” of services. At the Umberto I Hospital Dialysis Center in Tagliacozzo, staff have been recognized for providing professional and kind care that makes patients feel safe. Additionally, the IRCCS Saverio De Bellis has launched the “Agosto al De Bellis – L’umanità nella cura” program, which utilizes music, psychological support, and wellness activities to treat patients as individuals rather than just their illnesses.

Simultaneously, various regions are addressing staffing needs through recruitment and training. In Lombardy, ASST Brianza has expanded its recruitment efforts, opening four public competitions for eight permanent positions. These roles include an orthoptist, a cardiovascular perfusion technician, a social worker, and five socio-sanitary professional educators, with applications due by mid-September 2026. In the Lecco area, the ASST has also announced that patients will be automatically transitioned to a temporary medical clinic in Merate to ensure service continuity following the departure of a general practitioner in Imbersago.

In Molise, the regional health agency ASREM is proceeding with its recruitment of 16 permanent nursing positions, setting an application deadline of September 10, 2026. In Emilia-Romagna, ASP Progetto Persona continues to hire nurses and socio-sanitary operators, supported by training from Oasi Formazione.
