Healthcare services expand in Egypt and Syria

In Egypt, the Ministry of Health and Population has announced plans to expand home healthcare services for health insurance beneficiaries. Dr. Hossam Abdel Ghaffar, the ministry's official spokesperson, stated that the initiative aims to increase the number of home treatment clinics from 9 to more than 23. The goal is to provide medical care closer to patients' residences, particularly for those with mobility issues, and to eventually extend these services to every city center across Egypt's 27 governorates.

In Syria, the Daraa Health Directorate, in collaboration with the local community and the GAVI organization, has rehabilitated the Family Medicine Center in Sheikh Miskin. The project involved a complete renovation of the building and equipping it with modern medical supplies to activate specialized clinics. The center serves over 60,000 residents from Sheikh Miskin and surrounding villages, providing general, pediatric, and gynecological services, as well as pharmacy and laboratory functions. This rehabilitation is part of a strategic plan to reactivate the health system in the Daraa governorate, supported by partners including UNICEF and the World Health Organization.
