Heat 2 casts Christian Bale and Leonardo DiCaprio in lead roles

The upcoming sequel to Michael Mann’s 1995 crime thriller Heat, titled Heat 2, will feature Christian Bale as detective Vincent Hanna and Leonardo DiCaprio as criminal Chris Shiherlis, taking over the roles originally played by Al Pacino and Val Kilmer. The film will employ a dual‑time‑period structure, covering events in 1988, 1995 and 2000, and will be produced by Amazon MGM with an estimated $170 million budget.

Casting discussions also include Adam Driver as the villain Otis Wardell and Stephen Graham as Neil McCauley. Principal photography is slated to begin in November, and the high‑profile project has generated significant industry attention.
