Heat pump noise regulations in Poland carry fines up to 5,000 PLN
Heat pump owners in Poland face potential fines of up to 5,000 PLN if their devices exceed noise limits and disturb neighbors. Noise levels for modern units typically range between 35 dB and 42 dB, with the latter being comparable to the sound of a dishwasher.
Legal noise limits in residential areas are generally set at 50 dB during the day and 40 dB at night. Exceeding these thresholds can lead to police intervention or official complaints regarding the disturbance of public order or night rest.
To mitigate noise and avoid legal issues, experts recommend strategic installation. This includes ensuring the external unit is not directed toward neighbors' windows, avoiding narrow passages or alcoves where sound accumulates, and using anti-vibration pads or soundproof covers.
