Heather Hardy sues Jake Paul and MVP for $10 million
Former boxer Heather Hardy has filed a $10 million lawsuit against Jake Paul and Most Valuable Promotions (MVP). The complaint, filed in Texas, alleges negligence and violations of the Muhammad Ali Boxing Reform Act regarding her 2023 bout against Amanda Serrano.
Hardy claims she was pressured into the fight, which she describes as an “execution” intended to boost Serrano’s profile. The lawsuit asserts that the bout caused Hardy lasting neurological damage, affecting her health, vision, and ability to work. Hardy, who retired following the loss, has since launched a GoFundMe campaign to cover living expenses.
In response, MVP stated that Hardy was medically cleared by the presiding athletic commission and that her participation was arranged through her promoter, Lou DiBella. The promotion expressed sympathy for Hardy’s situation while maintaining that all applicable protocols were followed.
